Celebrating Sweet Melody at Seabrook

About ten years ago, my parents, sister and our families discovered a gorgeous coastal community three hours west of Seattle, Washington. Established in 2004, this oceanfront hamlet of vacation homes and permanent residents provides families with an opportunity to relax, reconnect and explore the surrounding beaches and old-growth forest.

We adored Seabrook from the moment we arrived.

This year our parents are married fifty years, so we happily celebrated at Seabrook. As a gift to our family, a dear friend joined us for a couple of days and took our pictures. (My husband Steve is not in the photos. Yes, we are still married. He had to stay home, work, and deal with our leaky roof. Somebody has to be the responsible adult in our relationship, right?)

Most mornings were foggy which made the clear days even more enjoyable.

Hanging out with my sister is always a blessing. Saying hello to the pretty horse in Seabrook’s farm district is an added bonus.

Did I mention it gets a little foggy sometimes? This was both spooky and exciting because it rolled in very quickly. We couldn’t resist trying to “find” the ocean.

Visiting the community fire pits, building a fire and making S’mores is one of my favorite activities at Seabrook.

It was so rewarding to hold my new book in the place that inspired the novel.
A wonderful full-circle moment!
