1. Why is the Emerald Cove series no longer available? When Heidi signed her multi-book contract with Sunrise Publishing, she agreed the books would be set in small-town Alaska and feature a family with 5 siblings. Because Tisha McDowell Binford is a fictional character with a through line between the Emerald Cove books and The Firefighter’s Twins, it made the most sense to build the new series around her. Also, writing multiple series for two publishers featuring books set in different Alaskan settings gets to be a lot to manage. The Emerald Cove books had a nice long run. It’s time to move in a new direction.
2. Are any of Heidi’s books available in audio? Sweet Melody is available in audio across multiple platforms. Their Baby Blessing and The Firefighter’s Twins are available through Apple as a digitally narrated audiobook. Covering Home is available through Audible (virtual voice narration). Publishers ultimately make the decision about whether to invest in audio. Hopefully more audiobooks will be available soon. Sunrise Publishing has announced the Redemption, Alaska series will be available in audio as well.
