My Works in Progress

Professional snowboarding. Food trucks. Bakeries. A widowed single mother escaping to her coastal vacation home … these are just a few of my current obsessions as I spill words onto pages and juggle various works-in-progress. There’s a TON of waiting involved in the publishing industry. My coping strategy is to just keep writing. Recently I typed my 500,000th word. Can you believe that? Once upon a time, I didn’t think I’d ever finish one manuscript. Here’s to at least another 500,000+ !! I have one manuscript under consideration with Harlequin, so I’m anxiously awaiting a response, which I hope includes a contract for publication. I also have two other completed manuscripts seeking a publishing home, so there is much to look forward to.

The more I connect with readers, the more I realize that you LOVE a peek behind the proverbial curtain. You’re all about catching a glimpse of the creative process. While I can’t reveal a ton of details, here’s a little taste of what’s going on my writing life.

A milestone moment in my professional life is signing with literary agent Jessica Kirkland of The Blythe Daniel Agency. In case you missed it when I blasted the news all over social media, here’s a picture of me signing the contract. Jessica is a fabulous agent and I’m super excited for what the future holds. IMG_20160204_211544

Here’s a stock photo image that represents my inspiration for Trevor and Quinn, the hero and heroine of Summer of Second Chances, the manuscript I pitched to Jessica and led to her offer of representation.

A loving couple on the beach

Recently widowed, single mother Quinn Marshall seeks peace for her family in coastal Seabrook, Washington. Reeling from his broken engagement, Trevor Wolcott makes a fresh start as Seabrook’s new landscape designer. When the two meet it’s instant attraction. But an earnest plea from his former fiancee threatens Trevor and Quinn’s second chance at love.
