“It’s the most wonderful time of the year…”

As we hit the home stretch of 2015, bookworms everywhere are proclaiming their “best reads” for this year. I love reading as many lists as possible. So many fabulous books out there, I can hardly stand it. The ladies over at The Broke and the Bookish are hosting a link-up with a gazillion ‘best of 2015’ posts, so if you’re looking for suggestions to add to your To Be Read pile, that’s the place to go.

Here is my list of the best books I read in 2015 (in no particular order):

  1. Falling for Texas by Jill Lynn: I loved this clean, inspirational romance from the Harlequin Love Inspired line. Witty banter, handsome yet flawed hero, loveable heroine … swoon-worthy romance. So enjoyable I read it twice, which is unusual for me.
  2.  Paper Hearts by Courtney Walsh: this might’ve been the first book I read in 2015. What a great way to kick off the new year. I adored Courtney’s Sweethaven series and she knocks it out of the park with this standalone novel. Great setting, funny cast of characters and a wounded hero you can’t resist. *Rumor has it the eBook version is on sale for $2.99 so you should definitely check that out*
  3. A Love Like Ours (A Porter Family Novel Book 3) by Becky Wade: Eagerly anticipated story in this series featuring Jake as the Porter as the flawed hero definitely did not disappoint readers. Fans of inspirational romance definitely shouldn’t miss this one.
  4. Water from My Heart by Charles Martin: I’m a huge fan of Charles Martin’s work and this is the best one I’ve read so far. Highly recommend.
  5. The Art of Losing Yourself by Katie Ganshert: I read everything Katie writes. This was gritty, beautiful and touching. She gets better and better with every story she crafts.
  6. Paper Towns by John Green: loved the characterization. His depiction of high school seniors on the cusp of graduation and the social pecking order made for a compelling read. The ending was not my favorite but still a well-written novel.
  7. The Seakeeper’s Daughters by Lisa Wingate: Loved the dual timelines and relationships explored here. Interesting historic elements, as well as complex relationships, consequences of hard choices and a subtle romance, too.
  8. Falling Like Snowflakes by Denise Hunter: A Christmas tree farm serves as the perfect backdrop for a love triangle, page-turning suspense, and an imperfect hero who will capture your heart from the first chapter. Incidentally, this eBook is on sale for $1.99 all month and I highly recommend it.
  9. Still Life with Bread Crumbs: Anna Quindlen’s writing style is like a good cup of coffee or an afternoon at the art museum. She truly has a gift for putting words on the page and drawing me in. This is a fabulous story of finding love in an unexpected season of life, told in both a funny and poignant way.
  10. Come Rain or Come Shine by Jan Karon: I’ve read every single Mitford book with great delight. An entire novel focused on one wedding might seem like a lackluster read, but in this case it’s quite the opposite. Karon paints a beautiful picture of the love between these two delightful characters and the supporting cast makes every scene both moving and laugh-out-loud funny. If you’ve been wanting to revisit Mitford, this is a can’t-miss opportunity.

Thank you for checking out my list. If you’d like to join the fun, the link-up is still open. All the details here. Happy reading, friends.
